I like to play with my voice and get involved in arranging and producing a song around a feeling, so when it comes to a cover of one of my favorite artists performing a song from one of my favorite childhood movies, that feeling is almost instinctual. I found my inner Bowie and I strived to create an arrangement with the disorienting and magical dark power of this song from The Labyrinth.

There's an inner torment to this Sorcerer "Goblin King" Bowie that really comes out in this song, a whirlwind of upside-down and sideways illusions. I reached out to Ian and Nick of B/I/R/T/H/D/A/Y for their dedication to an 80's sound and for Ian's particular brand of guitar wizardry to collaborate with my vision, and then the mix became so thick that I called upon another good friend, Justin Jayankura to treat this proper attempt at epic...and there we have it.

The song also reminds me of the time I played it live with 9 amazing musician friends packed on one tiny stage at The Chapel in San Francisco while the audience sparkled in their finest. I soo look forward to live music again. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't far away.
I hope you enjoy my tribute to Bowie today on his birthday. May we all find the stardust within us to embody our highest selves more and more and I look forward to seeing everyone in person soon. Cheers to a New Year!
